What does it mean to be a Pink Coattails entrepreneurial woman?
For Shelley Hitz, founder of TrainingAuthors.com this means being able to build your business plan around the 80-20 rule: the idea that just twenty percent of your efforts produce eighty percent of your results. So, focus on that golden twenty percent as much of the time as you can to maximize your productivity and your results.
Please join us as Shelley tells the story behind her biggest mindset challenge, takes us behind the scenes in her business, shares her coolest resources and more!
As an award-winning and internationally best-selling author, Shelley Hitz is passionate about helping authors succeed in publishing and marketing their books.
Shelley teaches from personal experience as she has been writing and publishing books since 2008 and has published over 30 books including print, eBook and audio book formats.
Big Why
Shelley’s Big Why revolves around lifestyle choice. While she enjoyed her previous career, it had very little flexibility and her schedule and time was not her own. She loves not having to ask for time off or and is thrilled not to have to request vacation time sometimes months in advance!
Mindset Challenge
A huge challenge for Shelley was ‘workalcoholism’ which centered around thinking she not only had to do everything herself, but she had to do it perfectly and get it done right now. Listen in as she reveals how she turned this around by focusing on the 80-20 rule.
Energy Plan
Daily
Shelley has a daily (or nearly everyday!) habit of prayer, reflection and journaling. She used to hate journaling but learned to love it after she saw how effective it is. She also gets out in nature every day and finds it very restorative and gives her a space for ideas to come.
Recharge
Weekend getaways provide fun and relaxation for Shelley and her husband. She loves the technology break during these time as well.
Business Fun
Shelley holds a group coaching challenge she is doing in November for authors to help them sell more books and get ready for the Christmas season. Plus, Shelley is partnering with book publishing expert Kristen Eckstein to start their own podcast for authors at BooksBusinessandBeyond.com
Business Vision
Helping authors to influence others by getting their message out is Shelley’s mission. She wants to do this on a more personal level with coaching and other programs.
