Amazon’s Uncertainty Cure

With everything that’s going on in the world these days…and I hesitate to say this…sometimes it feels like it’s selfish somehow to work on growing your business. And yes, of course we should get involved in causes we are passionate about.

But listen, you can’t solve all the world’s problems (if only that were true!) and it’s not selfish to work on providing an honest living for yourself and your team if you have one and providing value for your customers and clients.

But here’s what’s also true…there IS a lot of uncertainty in the world today and that uncertainty can often spill over into more and more clients and customers being willing to commit time and money to your programs and products, or wanting to put off purchases until ‘things get better.”

And that’s why, a couple of years ago, I decided to start investigating how I could get another stream of income coming in that wouldn’t rely on my having to directly market to prospective clients and customers. Now this is easier said than done, as there are a lot of schemes out there that promise you can do this to generate so-called ‘passive’ income but when I examined them more closely…well, suffice it to say none of them passed my ‘scam’ test and I was nearly tempted to just give up!

But then I had a conversation that changed everything…I happened to run into a friend and colleague of mine, Christine Cobb, at an event in Atlanta. I love Christine.
Christine Cobb - Amazon FBA Expert

Christine Cobb – Amazon FBA Expert

She’s what we here in the South call a ‘good old gal’ in the best sense of the word. She’s hard working and honest to a fault (after all, she’s a retired accountant!) We got to talking and turns out Christine had been selling on Amazon for a couple of years.

Now here comes the fun part, so get ready…

when I asked her how she was doing, she totally shocked me by telling me she was making gross sales of three hundred thousand dollars a year on Amazon annually. Now that got my attention! As you can imagine, I had a million questions and I expect, if you’ve read this far, that you do too. So…

on Wednesday, July 20th at 8 PM ET, I’m going to interview Christine live and she’s going to not only reveal how she became such a successful Amazon seller, she’s going to explain how you can do it too.

I want you to keep an open mind about this, because if you can see the opportunity here, this can change everything for you, just as it did for Christine and just as it’s doing for me. Selling on Amazon is real. It isn’t some fly by night scheme and it leverages one of the largest online marketplaces in the world. So…

If you are tired of uncertainty, weary of constantly chasing clients and you want to add a reliable stream of income to your business that can grow as large as you want and that you can do from home (provided you put in the effort, then…

A Wild Hair

SerenbeLabryinthCreative business genius Laura West and I were on the phone the other day and we had what us Southerners sometimes call a wild hair…

I’ll get to that in a second but let me just get you up to speed by reminding you that if you are a woman entrepreneur, you have most likely heard me shamelessly bragging about our extraordinary community…

the Pink Coattails Women’s Business Mastermind and Network, a soulful, welcoming, down to earth joyful group of women business owners including…

the owner of a nation-wide barbecue sauce company who is a real country gal, a high level virtual assistant who is one of the funniest women I know, a stellar therapist who writes some of the most moving short social media pieces I have ever read, an accomplished acupuncturist who is delving into the energetic realm, a women’s financial planner who is financial concierge…

I could go on, but let me get to that wild hair:

Our PinkCoattails Spring in-person retreat is  fast approaching at beautiful Serenbe Farms here south of Atlanta…

normally, the retreat is open only to members of our Pink Coattails Mastermind, but as Laura and I  were talking, we asked ourselves this wild hair question…

wouldn’t it be fantastic if more women could experience our in-person retreat without having to commit to a year long business Mastermind…

So, we are opening the Spring retreat up to just four more women but you have to act fast, fast, fast because we need to reserve your room before our room  block reservation expires…

the two and a half day retreat begins with our  arrival on Tuesday afternoon, May 24th at Serenbe Farms here south of Atlanta…

you’ll be introduced to our Pink Coattails community and welcomed with open arms, then, you’ll experience a business retreat like no other you’ve ever attended…filled with laughter, lots of good food, walking the labyrinth under Serenbe’s tall Georgia pines, a campfire under the stars, deep conversations and insights into your own  business that you just didn’t think were possible…

and you’ll leave with (dare I say it!) love and affection for the community you’ve come to know, as well as life-long friends and colleagues…

Why are we doing this?

Because we believe so strongly in the value of personal business connections in a beautiful, serene environment to restore your energy and self-confidence in both your life and business (after all, we see this happen at our retreats time and time again…

and we want YOU to be a part of it!

Here’s what to do next: Simply send an email to ellen [@] pinkcoattails.com and let me know you are interested. I’ll get right back to you with a time to talk briefly on the phone so you and I can get to know each other better and see if the retreat is right for  you (and you for us!) and, so I can give you all the details…

Laura and I can’t wait to meet you and I’m waiting to hear from you…

Ellen

P.S. Reply to this invitation right now so we can get a phone appointment set up, as we don’t have much time left. This retreat is going to be such a wonderful heart-opening experience for you and I promise you’ll be delighted!

Amazon FBA, Powerball and You

What if you knew, by doing this one thing, that your financial fortunes were about to forever change…

and no, I’m not talking about buying a Powerball ticket!

On Wednesday, January 20th, the doors open once again to the Amazon FBA Mastermind course that I’m hosting with expert Amazon seller Christine Cobb, who made $300K in gross sales her first year selling on Amazon!

While I’ve just begun to get my feet wet and had very little time, under Christine’s direction I still managed to sell 138 different items, from shoes and office supplies to toys and groceries for gross sales of $1998.46.

I started with just a $200 budget for inventory, purchased that amount of goods and then put every penny back into the business. Amazon pays out every two weeks and so far, since October 10th of 2015, Amazon has sent me a total of $1012.02. Not a bad return on my investment! And really, with interruptions due to family responsibilities, the holidays and having the flu, I’ve hardly even begun.

This year, I’m going to concentrate on ramping up my Amazon FBA business, putting more advanced strategies I’m learning from Christine into place and really growing my FBA business to the moon!

If you are tired of roller coaster income, you want to add another income stream to your business or you just need some extra cash, then join us. Just click here to see how you can learn to start and profit from your own Amazon business.

I’d be happy to speak with you privately if you have questions. Make 2016 your most delicious, Best Year Ever (while your friends and colleagues are whining over their broken New Year’s resolutions!

Your luck is about to change my friend, because unlike the Powerball lottery which will be history in just a few short hours, a successful Amazon business does not rely on chance, but on the action you take to get it up and running. You’ll be amazed at how a small investment in inventory gets compounded over time. Join us!

The One Gift You Must Give Yourself for the New Year

I can wrap up the old year in one word:

volatile…

meaning things are liable to change.

Rapidly. Unpredictably. And especially for the worse.

PC Blog Post

We saw this unpredictability unfold worldwide in areas like politics, natural disasters and in international terrorist incidents. Many of us saw this volatility come a little too close to home as it unfolded in our own personal worlds.

You likely watched in helpless fascination while the comfortable, familiar and dependable ways you had always brought income (and personal fulfillment) into your life via coaching, consulting and selling your carefully crafted information products slowly lose their effectiveness. It’s not that your coaching or consulting skills were to blame.

Many of you have honed that side of your businesses to a fine art. And all of my colleagues, myself included, put tremendous care into the development of any information products we offer to the public.

Over the past several months, I’ve spoken with many friends and colleagues and the story is always the same. Things are not the same. Marketing methods that used to work like gangbusters are no longer as effective. New clients are hard to come by. Competition is fiercer than ever. The list goes on.

A Marvelous Gift

But here’s what I don’t hear anyone talking about…

With all of this volatility…and with it the chaos, the unpredictability, the competition and the almost desperate sense of ‘what am I supposed to do now?’ comes…

a marvelous and totally unexpected gift.

This gift is an invitation for you to see the world differently. A chance to embrace change, rather than to resist it.

And an opportunity to both find what fulfills you and at the same time discover what makes you immune from future volatility.

Because you see…

the word ‘volatile’ with all of its negative connotations has hidden in its heart the key to escape. The word comes from Old French and Latin terms which mean ‘to fly.’ When you fly, you’re able to get above the situation and see things very differently from when you’re still mired in the chaos.

You get a different perspective when you look ‘down’ on your business this way. And you soon see that if you have been relying on just one way to bring income into your life, you’ve been setting yourself up for disaster.

If you want to be able to look back on 2016 as the year you took flight and made your business into a stable, fulfilling, steady income producer, you have to embrace the idea that you can no longer rely on just one source of income but multiple streams that eventually flow into a rushing river. If one source dries up, you are not left high and dry, but have other sources that continue to bring in revenue.

Now this does NOT mean doing things that are scattered and completely unrelated. You want your efforts to be synergistic and to feed and complement each other, multiplying your efforts, not diluting them.

Also, there is no one way to do this that is right for every single person. You have to find the combination of activities that speaks to your strengths and interests and to carve out your own individual path to success.

And although this may sound a little harsh, you must have a solid business ‘plan’ behind these activities that will not only satisfy your creative desires but will be real income producers for you. All the passion in the world around a particular activity will not produce income if you don’t have an audience for what you are selling.

This way of structuring my business is exactly what I’m doing in 2016 and I’m documenting my journey right here at Pink Coattails.

Embracing an eCommerce Model

One of the biggest changes I’ve made to my business model is to embrace an commerce model, beginning with Amazon FBA. This means I’m selling actual physical products on Amazon (FBA stands for fulfilled by Amazon) and I love it.

I don’t have to ship anything to customers or do any advertising. I just purchase products, send them in to Amazon where they sell for a profit and Amazon takes care of all the rest including sending the product to the customer. Then every two weeks, Amazon sends me the money I’ve made straight to my bank account. (That’s the best part!)

The best thing about Amazon FBA is that there is no ‘one way’ that is right for all sellers. Some people love to go out to stores, buy things and send them in to Amazon. Others buy strictly online, send their purchases to a prep center and the prep center sends them to Amazon. Some do wholesale. Some other folks are into private label products.

When Everything Changed

I learned what I know about Amazon FBA from Christine Cobb, who is a very successful seller. She’s been at this for three years and has been so quiet about it, I didn’t even know she was doing it until I ran into her at the NAMS Conference in Atlanta last summer.

That’s when everything changed.

I’d love to introduce you to the Amazon FBA concept and let you hear for yourself how Christine went from zero to over $300,000 in gross sales annually (yes, you read that right!). I’m hosting a free call Wednesday, January 6th at 8 PM Eastern where you can find out exactly how Christine accomplished this and how you can too.

Just click here to register for the free Amazon call and reserve your place.

In the meantime, take heart! There is a way out of this volatile place you are in. A place of certainty and calm assurance. I’ll be documenting my journey this year right here and would be honored to have you join me in it. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this and something of your own journey in the comments below.
